About Us

Starting Block Physical Therapy was started to provide child and athlete specific care in Bend, Oregon. We specialize in providing skilled physical therapy for sports related conditions, orthopedic conditions, and pelvic floor conditions.

 

Our goal is help children return to their sports and activities they love

without worry or fear. 

At Starting Block Physical Therapy you can expect: 

One-on-one treatment, all the time. No use of aides or other support personnel. You get to work with the same physical therapist all the time.

Kari Lindegren, PT, DPT

daily lives and sports. She has special interests in urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, the return to sport process, rehabilitation after ACL reconstruction, helping swimmers return to swimming and stay in the pool, and keeping dancers of all levels healthy and strong.

Kari swam collegiately at New York University where she graduated with a degree in Psychology and minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She grew up in Southern California, but has lived all over the country including New York City, Boston, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Los Angeles. She is proud to call Bend her home and enjoys exploring all Central Oregon has to offer with her husband, daughter, and pup.

Learn More About Dr. Kari Lindegren, PT, DPT

 Kari graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and then went on to complete an orthopedic physical therapy residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is Board-Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She has experience working as a physical therapist serving pediatric and adult patients with orthopedic, sports, and pelvic floor related conditions as well as pediatric patients with developmental and neurologic conditions. She also has experience coaching youth swimmers at the club level.

Kari has also participated in research related to low back pain in adolescents and pelvic floor dysfunction. She has presented both locally and nationally on topics pertaining to the youth athlete, returning athletes to sport, and pelvic floor dysfunction. She is especially passionate about helping young athletes frustrated by injury successfully return to sport and serving kids and adolescents who are annoyed  by leaking while participating in their
